Here Below

Swimming just below the surface
the sun dances in waves,
my skin red from its kiss
and my solitude doth craves,
I live in a forgotten future
and all I have is time,
here below where the water flows
and all that's left is mine

The drums they pound in the night
with alligators that moan,
I slap my legs upon the brink
and cry out my jilted groan,
every thought of you I carried
like a tattoo of time,
here below where the water flows
and I'm left with all that was mine,

Day to night
and sun to moon,
mountains crumble
and rivers do swoon,
where my love does flow
with every any and where will all,
this current of crimson
deep within me gives a stall,
down here below, where our waters flow
and all that's left is what we gave our all...
